Preoperative Fasting (NPO)

If you are having a procedure or surgery with anesthesia, please carefully follow the instructions shown in the table below with particular attention to the following in order to avoid cancellation on the day of your arrival:

  • Do not eat solid food, fat or cream after midnight.
  • Do not drink coffee or tea with powder and cream after midnight.
  • Do not drink water for at least 2 hours before your anesthesia.
